Further, each group has low, medium, and high priorities. These settings should be able to be set on a group-level basis. Part of the access rights on groups allows you to hide the tray icon, disable assistance requests, etc. This group is a system default and cannot be removed. ![]() By default, all users get registered under the "Entire Network" group. Now it's time for me to set up the groups for teachers. Okay, so I can work around that for now, as we don't have any teachers with non-unique usernames. Windows clients respect the rights correctly. Finally they were able to get the same results in their own environment, and it's narrowed down to similar usernames and only on the Mac client. Support was at a bit of a loss, and we went through several rounds of testing to verify that it wasn't just something I had set up wrong. If I remove permissions for both from one group or the other, neither will have access. The actual result in the Mac Console client is that both users will have access to both groups. bsmiththethird has access to Group B but not Group A. bsmith has access to Group A but not Group B. Example: I have two users, one bsmith and one bsmiththethird. ![]() All teachers/students are 1:1 with Mac laptops.Įssentially, after a lot of back and forth during my initial setup, it appears that the product is broken in one way or another that will prevent us from being able to use it.įirstly, in my testing I came across a new and rather significant bug where if you have two users with similar usernames, the console client will give you the highest rights of either user. We recently signed up for Impero to help our teachers manage the students in their classroom. ![]()
